Most people deal with a collision claim once every several years. We deal with them daily, for every major carrier, which is why we would rather handle the back-and-forth than leave you doing it from a rental car.
We write the estimate, send it to your adjuster, and document the damage with photographs. When a teardown uncovers damage nobody could see from the outside — which happens often — we file the supplement and negotiate it directly with your insurer rather than presenting you with a surprise at pickup. Billing goes straight to the carrier, so what you pay is your deductible.
One thing worth knowing: the choice of repair shop is yours, not your insurer's. A carrier can recommend a shop from its network, but it cannot require you to use one, and choosing us does not reduce your coverage.

Questions we get about insurance claims support.
- Do I need to collect three estimates before repairs can start?
- Almost never. That practice is largely gone; carriers today typically work from one estimate and their own adjuster's review. If yours does ask for more, we will tell you and help you get them.
- What happens if the insurer's estimate is lower than yours?
- That is normal, especially before teardown. We document what the vehicle actually needs and file a supplement, then negotiate it with the adjuster. It is a routine conversation between the shop and the carrier, and not something you have to referee.
- Can my insurance company force me to use its shop?
- No. In New York the choice of repair facility belongs to you. An insurer may recommend a network shop, but declining does not affect your coverage.
